Verizon Business offering Cisco unified communications as a managed service

Verizon Business is offering a managed unified communications service based on Cisco's Unified Communications Manager 6.1. The service is available immediately to customers in the United States and many European countries, and a launch is planned in the Asia-Pacific region early next year, according to Verizon Business. It also claims to be the first U.S. service provider to offer the Cisco UC platform to customers around the world.

Good luck finding info on the web site

I spent an hour and could not find any info on the web site. I called Verizon and people in sales that I talked to could not tell me one thing about it, who to call, where to get more information.

Nice announcement, very poor information roll out. Even the podcast was just high level BS, nothing about the product.

Here is the information you requested. If you go to the Verizon Business website, the article regarding Unified Communications and Collaboration is on the main homepage (In the News area, 09 October 2008). The hyperlink for the podcast is embedded in the article. You can find the associated products and services that Verizon Business offers, including whitepapers and awards, on the links within the podcast window.

Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions are comprised of a series of products and services, and therefore would not be listed as a specific product. For detailed information on Unified Communications and Collaboration Solutions go to the Solutions area of the website. Our home page is located at http://www.verizonbusiness.com, once there, click on Solutions, click on Explore by Category, then click on Unified Communications and Collaboration. Once there, you can click on the hyperlinks in this area titled "Enable Decision Making", etc.. which directs you to the associated products and services that make up the Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) portfolio.

It sounds as if you had some difficulty contacting the sales team within Verizon Business? I am an Engineering Manager in our Government/Education Solutions group and my team would assist you with UC&C Solutions if you work in an educational or government account. If you are a commercial customer looking for additional information on our solutions, and would like to provide me with some additional information, I will forward it to the team within Verizon Business that supports your account.

Hope this helps...
