Busting IT myths

Over at the Thinking problem management! blog, a new series of polls has been started, which focuses on IT myths. IT is full of myths, like the best practice myth, and these polls are meant to assist in busting or confirming these myths. (Please leave ideas for myths as comments!) The polls loosely follow the Mythbusters method:
  • Busted - The myth's results cannot be replicated via either the described parameters nor reasonably exaggerated ones.
  • Plausible - The myth's results can only be replicated by expanding some parameters of the myth by a realistic and reasonable margin.
  • Confirmed - A confirmed myth is usually corroborated with documented evidence of actual occurrences.
The polls are called Redibusters and the current status of the results so far are:
The polls are not scientific but are good fun!!! There is a Redibuster scheduled to be released each day!
